Asian markets have tumbled deep into red in morning trades following weak cues from the US markets over the weekend. The Hang Seng has slumped 706 points (2.9%) to 23,626. The Nikkei has plunged 546 points (4%) to 13,057. The Taiwan Weighted index has dropped 217 points (2.6%) to 8,196. The Straits Times and the Seoul Composite indices are also down almost 3% each at 2,939 and 1,663, respectively. The Shanghai Composite index is down 15 points at 4,334. |
