Asian markets slump; Shanghai down 4%

The Hang Seng slumped 402 points or 2% each to 22,210. The Nikkei slipped 59 points to 9,383.

The Shanghai Composite Index tumbled 120 points or around 4% to 3,171.

The Straits Times declined 28 points or 1% to 2,764. The Seoul Composite and the Taiwan Weighted indices are down 0.5% each at 1,599 and 7,739, respectively.

Asian markets mostly in red.

The Shanghai Composite index has plunged 2.9% to 3,194.

The Hang Seng has shed 1% at 22,370, and the Nikkei has dropped 0.6% at 9,387.

The Straits Times has declined 19 points to 2,774. The Taiwan Weighted and Seoul Composite indexes are also in red.

The Asian markets are trading on a mixed note.

 

Hang Seng is at 22,460.10, down 151.70 points or 0.67%, while the  Nikkei is quoting at 9,445.36, marginally up 3.72 points or 0.04%.

Seoul Composite is at 1,613.86, higher by 1.98 points or 0.12% and Taiwan Weighted is placed at 7,785.97, up 29.66 points or 0.38%. However, Straits Times is down 5.48 points or 0.20% at 2,787.36.
