Asian markets start on a mixed note

Taking cues from the developments in the US markets overnight, the Asian indices have open on a mixed note.

Hang Seng is quoting at 19,589, stronger by 92 points or 0.5% and the Nikkei has opened at 9,748, higher by 36 points or 0.37%.

Seoul Composite is quoting at 1,630, weaker by 11 points or 0.7%, Taiwan Weighted is at 7,268, lower by 21 points or 0.3% and Straits
Times is at 2,731, up 16 points or 0.6%.

Shanghai Composite is at 2,552, down 16 points or 0.6%.
