Asian markets surge; Taiwan, Seoul gain 2%

Asian markets surged to nearly two-month highs on strong cues from global markets.

The Hang Seng jumped 362 points (1.7%) to 21,385. The Nikkei added 125 points (1%) to 10,846.

The Seoul Composite and the Shanghai Composite added 2% each to 1,683 and 3,050, respectively.

The Taiwan Weighted has surged 152 points (2%) to 7,848.

The Straits Times has advanced 16 points to 2,913.

The Asian markets continue to exhibit strong movement. The Hang Seng has added 331 points or 1.5% at 21,353.

The Nikkei has advanced 77 points or 1% to 10,798.

The Shanghai Composite Index is up 24 points or 1% at 3,016 and the Straits Times has increased 19 points or 1% to 2,914, respectively.

The Seoul Composite and the Taiwan Weighted Index are up 1% each.

The Asian markets have opened in the positive. Hang Seng is quoting at 21,194, stronger by 171 points or 0.8% and Nikkei is at 10,795, higher by 74 points or 0.6%.

 

Straits Times is at 2,902, stronger by five points or 0.2%, Seoul Composite is at 1,662, higher by 14 points or 0.8% and Taiwan Weighted is at 7,791, up 95 points or 1.2%.

Shanghai Composite is at 3,010, up 18 points or 0.6%.
