The Asian markets edge higher on back of positive cues from the US.

The Nikkei Stock Average is up marginally  by 0.3% at 8,872 as exporters surge; yen retreats from 15 month highs. Uncertainity over government's intervention to put a curb on rising Yen looms on the markets.

Shanghai Composite has also risen 0.3% to 2,603, Taiwan Weighted is down 0.64% at 7,687.

Hang Seng continues to trade in the red, has fallen 0.1% to 20,619 on back of losses in China Life Insurance Co. after reporting weaker-than-expected results.
