Asian markets up; Nikkei gains 121pts

Asian markets were mostly up in early trades today.

The Nikkei has advanced 121 points to 17,649. The Taiwan Weighted index moved up 36 points to 7995.

The KLSE Composite and Seoul Composite indices moved up seven points each to 1330 and 1536, respectively.

The Shanghai Composite index, however, slipped 18 points to 3594.
