Asian stocks rebound

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index added 1 per cent to 148.80 as of 7:10 pm in Tokyo, snapping a five-day, 4.5 per cent decline. About five stocks advanced for every two that dropped, and all 10 industry groups rose.

Most Asian benchmark indexes gained on Tuesday. Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average added 1.5 per cent to 13,893.31, the biggest move in the region, with trading volumes on the Tokyo Stock Exchange the second-lowest for a full day this year.

 

Europe
European stocks fell for a third day. Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index lost 0.4 per cent to 317.11 as of 10:55 am in London. National benchmark indexes retreated in all 17 western European markets that were open except the UK and Switzerland.

US
US stock-index futures were little changed. S&P's 500 Index futures expiring in June slipped 0.1, or less than 0.1 per cent, to 1,373.3 as of 10:06 am in London.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures lost 3 to 12,468 and Nasdaq-100 Index futures added 3 to 1,961.25.
