The turnover in the derivatives segment on the NSE was at Rs 7,407.64 crore with a total of 2.50 lakh contracts being traded. In index futures, the turnover figure was Rs 2,015.49 crore while the turnover in stock futures was Rs 4,634.52 crore. |
The Nifty near-month futures closed at 1,646, compared to the spot Nifty's closing at 1,652.15. It may be recalled that for some days the Nifty near-month futures had been closing at a premium to the spot value. |
Apart from the Nifty, many other individual stock futures, however, ended at a premium to their spot values. State Bank futures, for instance, ended at Rs 459.30, a 2.65 points premium to the spot closing of the scrip at Rs 456.65. |
Tata Motors August futures closed at Rs 433.75 again at a slight premium to the spot closing of the scrip at Rs 431.70. Tisco August futures closed at Rs 407.60, a premium to the spot closing of Rs 405.30. |
Among the futures, the most traded contracts were those of Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, State Bank and Maruti among others in terms of value. In the options segment, among calls the most traded contracts were Tata Motors at strikes of 440 and 430, Reliance at a strike of 500, Tata Steel at a strike of 410 and Satyam at a strike of 350. In puts, the most active contracts were Satyam at strike of 340, Tisco at a strike of 400, SBI at a strike of 450 and Tata Motors at a strike of 420, 430. |
