August Futures Improve

The derivatives market improved marginally today following better sentiment in the cash market. Nifty August futures closed 1.35 points higher at 979.50, as against a gain of 0.60 points in S&P CNX Nifty at 979.85.

September and October Nifty futures closed at 985.20 and 988.55 points, respectively. The volume of trade in Nifty August futures were lower at 4,603 contracts, while open interest stood at 8,942 contracts.

Nifty futures saw a trading volume of Rs 98.08 crore arising from 5,002 contracts and Nifty options saw 1,293 contracts getting traded at a notional value of Rs 25.65 crore. The total turnover of the Futures & Options segment of the Exchange was around Rs 870.78 crore.

 

Out of 30 securities, options on 24 underlying securities got traded.

The total number of contracts traded was 7,329 with a notional value of Rs 178.99 crore.
