Aurobindo Pharma touches new high on MSCI inclusion

The index provider MSCI added the pharmaceutical company to MSCI India index with effect from May 30.

Aurobindo Pharma is trading higher by 2% to Rs 626 after MSCI added the pharmaceutical company to MSCI India index with effect from May 30.

The stock opened at Rs 624 and touched a new high of Rs 633 on the NSE. A combined 340,000 shares changed hands on the counter in early morning deals on the NSE and BSE.

MSCI added Aurobindo Pharma to the MSCI India index after its semi-annual global index review, a Reuters report suggests.

The index provider also added 13 stocks and deleted the same number from MSCI global small-cap indexes, it added.
