Bajaj Auto is trading lower by around 3% to Rs 1,972 after reporting 3.3% year-on-year (yoy) fall in total sales at 332,997 units in February 2013, a sharpest fall in past five months. The company had sold total 343,777 units in the same month of previous year.
“The company sold 291,297 motorcycles (301,961 units) in the month, a decline of 4%. The sales of commercial vehicles too were down to 41,090 units (41,816 vehicles), a 2% fall,” Bajaj Auto said in a statement.
Earlier, the company had reported 14% YoY decline in total sales at 360,152 units during the month of September 2012.
The stock opened at Rs 2,025 and hit a low of Rs 1,966 on NSE. A combined 265,727 equity shares have changed hands on the counter so far on NSE and BSE.
