Bajaj Auto has moved higher by 2.3% at Rs 1,888 after reporting a second highest monthly sales of 411,502 units in October 2012. The two-wheeler maker had sold 395,274 units in the same month last year.
The sales of its motorcycles increased 3% from a year ago to 361,186 units, while commercial vehicle sales were surged 14% to 50,316 units.
Total exports for October was however down 4% to 126,091 units compared to 131,948 units in the same period last year, Bajaj Auto said in a statement.
The stock opened at Rs 1,855 and hit a record high of Rs 1,890 on the NSE. A combined 135,658 shares have changed hands on the counter in early noon deals on both the exchanges.
