Bajaj Auto, Itc Adrs Up

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was trading relatively flat at 506.34 at 5:00 PM IST on Thursday, as compared to the previous close.

Among Indian GDRs, there were 5 gainers, and 2 losers, while 55 others remained unchanged.

The GDRs of the State Bank of India witnessed heavy trading during the morning session, registering volumes of around 3,00,000 GDRs. However, they slipped by 1.08 per cent later in the day. Reliance was also down 3.09 per cent.

The gainers included Bajaj Auto (up 3.54 per cent), ITC (up 1.80 per cent) and Hindalco (up 1 per cent).

Meanwhile, of the 11 Indian ADRs traded on February 26, 2003, there were only 2 gainers and 8 losers.

 

The gainers were ICICI Bank (up 0.29 per cent to $6.92) and HDFC Bank (up 2.16 per cent to $15.97). The major losers were Satyam Infoway (down 6.58 per cent to $10.42), Rediff (down 3.91 per cent) and VSNL (down 2.37 per cent).

The Infosys Tech ADR was also down 98 cents to $60.22, while the Wipro ADR was down 40 cents to $28.94. The Nasdaq composite dropped 25.30 points or 1.9 per cent to 1303.68, while the Dow Jones industrial average dipped by 102.52 points to 7806.98.

The S&P 500 index fell by 11.02 points (or about 1.3 per cent) to 827.55. US indices fell for the second time in three sessions with some hard losses on Monday.
