The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) rose 1.07 per cent to $494.75 in London early trades on Thursday, March 27, compared with the previous close at 5:00 PM IST.
Among Indian global depository receipts, only two advanced, while six lost ground.
The gainers were Bajaj Auto (up 2.66 per cent to $10.55) and ITC (up 0.53 per cent to $13.30), while the major losers were State Bank of India (down 1.37 per cent to $14.45), Hindalco (down 0.13 per cent to $11.60) and Reliance (down 1.16 per cent to $11.96).

Among American depositary receipts of Indian firms, there was only one gainer but there were seven losers.
VSNL was up 2.42 per cent to $3.38, while Satyam Computer (down 2.07 per cent to $9.44), MTNL (down 1.98 per cent to $3.97) and ICICI Bank (down 1.87 per cent to $6.30) fell.
The ISDI, which represents the GDRs of 15 actively traded companies, eased by 0.51 per cent to 496.77 on March 26 as against its previous close of 499.33.
The ISDI P/E ratio also edged down by 0.62 per cent to 10.53 from 10.59 previously. Among the ADRs and GDRs there were eight gainers, eight losers and 56 ruled steady. The ADRs of Rediff.Com, Satyam Infoway and VSNL shot up to $3.20, $4.15 and $3.38m, respectively, from $2.32, $3.60 and $3.30, respectively.
The ADRs of Satyam Computer, MTNL and ICICI Bank eased to $9.44 and $3.97 and $6.30, respectively, from $9.64, $4.05 and $6.42 previously. Meanwhile, European stocks stumbled in mid-session trades as the war in
Iraq looked increasingly tough.
The US stock index futures also signalled the likelihood of further losses when the Wall Street reopened.
