Balmer Lawrie & Company is trading higher by 3% to Rs 615 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) ahead of its board meeting today to consider a maiden bonus issue proposal.
“The board of directors of the company will meet on March 26, 2013, for consideration of 'Declaration of Bonus Shares',” Balmer Lawrie said in a BSE filing.
The stock has outperformed the market by surging 6% after the company announced bonus issue plan on March 20 compared to 1% fall in benchmark Snesex.
Today, the stock opened at Rs 606 and hit a high of Rs 619 on BSE. A combined 8,697 shares have changed hands on the counter so far on BSE and NSE.
