Marketmen said although there was a strong demand from beer making industries, rising inventories put pressure on futures prices of barley here.

For the May contract, the prices moved down by Rs 17.50, or 1.12%, to Rs 1,548.50 per quintal, with an open interest of 14,770 lots.
