Barley prices fell by Rs.10 to Rs.1117.40 per quintal in future trading today on renewed selling guided by weak spot markets sentiment.

Marketmen said poor offtake by beer and cattlefeed makers amid increased supply in physical markets pulled down barley prices for the second straight day.

At the National commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, barley prices for the delivery of July month contract slipped further by Rs.10, or 0.89 per cent to Rs.1117.40 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,380 lots.

Near August month contract also fell by Rs.8.40, or 0.73 per cent to Rs.1139 per quintal, showing an open interest of 5050 lots.
