Barley prices declined by Rs 26 to Rs 1,352 per quintal in futures trading today on weak spot markets sentiment.
Market analysts said reduced offtake by beer and cattle-feed making industries amid rising inventories in physical markets, mainly put pressure on barley futures price.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley for delivery in August lost Rs 26, or 1.89%, to Rs 1,352 per quintal, with an open interest of 990 lots.
Barley price for delivery in July also moved down by Rs 24.60, or 1.81%, to Rs 1,337.60 per quintal, with an open interest of 9,760 lots.
