Barley futures fell on profit booking

Barley prices lost Rs 3.40 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 1,101.40 per quintal in futures trading today driven by profit taking by traders at prevailing higher levels.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, barley prices for July-month contract softened by Rs 3.40 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 1,101.40 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,440 lots.

Most active June-month contract too followed suit and eased by Rs 1.60 or 0.15 per cent to Rs 1,086 per quintal and clocked a turnover of 15,820 lots.
