Barley prices fell by Rs 8.60 to Rs 1,126 per quintal in futures trading today as traders preferred to offload holdings due to the commencement of harvesting season.
Market analysts said increased supplies following harvesting of crops mainly put pressure on the barley futures prices here.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley price for delivery in April at Jaipur-Rajasthan eased by Rs 8.60, or 0.76 per cent, to Rs 1,126 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,950 lots.
Barley futures for delivery in May also eased by Rs 2.40, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 1,148 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,510 lots.
