Barley up 1.5% on low levels buying

Restricted supply and pick up in demand in physical markets mainly pushed up prices here in futures trading, says marketmen.

Barley prices surged by Rs 28.50 to Rs 1,445 per quintal in futures trading today in tandem amid a firm spot market sentiment.

Barley prices for far September contract hardened by Rs 28.50, or 2.01% to Rs 1,445 per quintal, having an open interest of 260 lots.
    
Current June month contract prices advanced by Rs 21, or 1.56% to Rs 1,370.50 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,370 lots.
    
Most active near July contract prices, too, gained by Rs 20, or 1.45%, to Rs 1,397.50 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 27,680 lots.
