Base metal prices moves up on bullish global cues

Led by recovery in nickel, most of the base metal prices edged up further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on good buying by stockists on the back of bullish trend at the London metal exchange (LME).

However, zinc prices softened on poor buying support.

Nickel prices rose by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,155 from an overnight closing level of Rs 1,150.

Copper sheets cutting moved up by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 352 from Rs 350 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar all edged up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 366, Rs 361, Rs 339, and Rs 394 respectively.

Meanwhile, zinc prices eased by a rupee per kilo to Rs 117 from Rs 118.
