Base metals ease on global cues

Base metal prices eased at the non-ferrous metal market here today on lower stockist offtake amid weakening overseas trend.

Meanwhile, brass sheet cutting edged up on better buying support from industrial users.

Nickel and tin prices declined by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,145 and Rs 1,295, respectively from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,150 and Rs 1,300.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and brass utensils scrap fell by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 400, Rs 428 and Rs 261, as against Rs 404, Rs 432 and Rs 265 last weekend.

Copper sheet cutting and zinc both moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 377 and Rs 129, respectively. Copper scrap heavy and lead edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 394 and Rs 114, respectively.

Copper armiture and aluminium utensils scrap softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 384 and Rs 101, respectively.

However, brass sheet cutting looked up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 274 from Rs 273 in the previous session.
