Base metals firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on steady stockists demand and good industrial offtake amid rising trend on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
The industrial metals climbed at the LME on weaker dollar as well as better Chinese demand.
Tin prices rose by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,425 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,420 and copper armiture edged up by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 453 as against Rs 451 yesterday.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar, copper sheet cutting, brass sheet cutting, zinc and lead all inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 472, Rs 464, Rs 426, Rs 500, Rs 448, Rs 316, Rs 127 and Rs 126, respectively.
