Led by tin, most of the base metals rallied at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to heavy buying by stockists on the back of rising trend on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Tin hardened by Rs 25 per kilo to Rs 1,305 from overnight's closing level of Rs 1,280 and nickel strengthened by Rs 15 per kilo to Rs 1,145, as against Rs 1,130.
Copper scrap heavy rose by Rs 8 per kilo to Rs 384 from Rs 376 yesterday. Copper cable scrap and copper armiture both firmed up by Rs 5 per kilo each to Rs 392 and Rs 371, as against Rs 387 and Rs 366, respectively.
Copper wire bar and aluminium utensils scrap went up by Rs 4 per kilo each to Rs 419 and Rs 94. Copper sheet cuttings moved up by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 365 and brass utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 259.
Brass sheet cutting and lead also inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 267 and Rs 111.
