Base metals remain firm on industrial demand

Base metals continued to rule firm at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to rising industrial demand coupled with sustained buying from stockists.

While, aluminium utensils eased on poor offtake from consumer industries. Nickel rose by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,215 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,210.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar both edged up by Rs 2 per kilo each to Rs 465 and Rs 493, respectively, compared to Rs 463 and Rs 491 yesterday.

Copper scrap heavy, copper armitire, copper utensils scrap, copper sheets cutting, brass sheets cutting, zinc and lead all inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 456, Rs 446, Rs 424, Rs 441, 315, 125 and 125, respectively.  

 

However, aluminium utensils scrap softened by a rupee per kilo to Rs 106 from 107 previously.
