After slipping sharply below 6,600 levels in the early trades, the market continues to exhibit weakness following bearish trends in tech, auto, select heavyweights and banking stocks. The Sensex is now down 39 points at 6,569, while the Nifty has dipped 10 points to 2,059. Infosys is trading at its opening lows, and is down 1.73% (Rs 38) at Rs 2,146. While Wipro has inched lower by 1.27% (Rs 9) to Rs 698, Satyam is down a rupee at Rs 406. SBI and ICICI Bank are trading lower by a per cent each at Rs 659 and Rs 370, respectively. HDFC Bank is marginally up at Rs 562. While Reliance is down a tad at Rs 535, ITC is down Rs 2 at Rs 1,303. HLL is up 1.39% (Rs 2) at Rs 146. Hero Honda has tumbled 2.69% (Rs 15) to Rs 534. Bajaj and Tata Motors have slipped a per cent each to Rs 1,036 (down Rs 10) and Rs 489 (down Rs 3), respectively. Maruti, however, is up Rs 2 at Rs 473. Hindalco has dropped 1.93% (Rs 27) to Rs 1,358. Bharti has shed more ground after opening on a weak note. The counter has lost 2.40% (Rs 5) to Rs 210. Tata Power has declined 1.25% (Rs 5) to Rs 412. Grasim and Gujarat Ambuja are down a per cent each at Rs 1,355 and Rs 440, respectively. ACC is also lacklustre at Rs 367 - down Rs 2. |
