Black pepper and ginger rise on higher demand

Black pepper and ginger prices rose at the spices market here today on renewed buying from stockists as well as sustained demand from exporters. Copra edible Mumbai also edged up further owing to increased offtake.

Meanwhile, copra office Alapuzha eased on lack of buying support. Black pepper firmed up by Rs 3/5 per kilo to Rs 195/208 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 190/205.

Ginger bleached and unbleached, both gained Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 230 and Rs 250 against Rs 225 and Rs 245, respectively. Copra edible Mumbai moved up by 25 per quintal to Rs 4,300 from Rs 4,275 previously. 

 

However, copra office Alapuzha fell by Rs 25 per quintal to Rs 3,650 as against Rs 3,675.

Black Pepper (per kilo) 195/208 (190/205), ginger bleached (per kilo) 230 (225), ginger unbleached (per kilo) 250 (245), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 3,650 (3,675)

Copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 3,550 (3,550), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 5,250 (5,250) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 4,300 (4,275)
