Shares of IT firm Mindtree zoomed up by over 19% in morning trade on the bourses today amid media reports that 22 lakh shares of the company changed hands in a block deal.
The stock soared by 18.17% to touch a month's high of Rs 426.60 on the BSE, while on the NSE, the scrip surged by 19.13% to touch an early peak of Rs 430.
According to media reports, former MindTree Chairman Ashok Soota has sold a part of his 11% stake in the company through a block deal.
An equity stake of about 5.49% in Mindtree changed hands in a block deal on the NSE today, it said.
The deal was done at Rs 428 per share, which is at an 18.58% premium vis-a-vis yesterday's closing price of Rs 361.
Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark Sensex was trading higher by 79.43 points at 18,773.29 at 1059 hours today.
