Block deals galore

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) combined has reported block deals worth Rs 129 crore on Monday compared with Rs 78 crore worth of bulk deals on Friday. On Monday, 21.1 million equity shares changed hands through block deals against 8.68 million shares on Friday.
 
Major such deals on BSE include Essar Shipping, Vaibhav Gems, Kalpataru Power Transmission, Grabal Alok, Writing Products, Indiabulls Financial Services and Fedders Lloyds.
 
The NSE witnessed block deals in MphasiS BFL, Polaris Software, Geodesic Information Systems, NIIT, Panacea Biotech, Sesa Goa, JBF Industries, Tuesday's Writing Products, Alps Industries and Greenply Industries.
 
Templeton Mutual Fund bought 11.69 lakh equity shares of Polaris Software at a price of Rs 114.50 per share on NSE. Prudential ICICI Trust purchased 1.17 lakh shares of NIIT in favour of Emerging Star Fund for a total amount of Rs 2.82 crore from Reliance Capital Trustee Company.
 
Franklin India Prima Fund bought 10 lakh equity shares of Panacea Biotech at a price of Rs 145, while Morgan Stanley sold 2.48 lakh shares of Sesa Goa at Rs 583.80 on NSE. Morgan Stanley sold five lakh equity shares of Amtek Auto at Rs 170 per share and Morgan Stanley International bought 1.15 lakh shares of Kalpataru Power.
 
Transmission from Emerging Capital Advisors for Rs 6.03 crore on BSE.
 
Essar Investments sold 79.83 lakh shares of Essar Shipping to Chandrakaunsh Traders at a price of Rs 35.15 per share. Dattu ABA Shitole sold 2.50 lakh equity shares of Fast Track Entertainment and 45,000 shares of Interlink Financial Services on Monday.
 
Tejas Jayantilal Thakkar purchased equity shares of Tuesday's Writing Products (3.91 lakh), Lahoti Overseas (95,060) and Prajay Engineers Syndicate (44,880) on BSE.
