The Sensex has shed some of its morning gains with the index touching an intra day low of 18,933 and continues to hover around the same. The Nifty added 26 points at 5,681 and the Sensex is up 80 points at 18,962. The smallcap and the midcap indices are underperforming the BSE benchmark index at 0.2% and 0.3% respectively.
On the BSE sectoral indices, Realty, Power and Capital Goods have slipped into the red. IT and FMCG gaining 1% each continue to be the top gainers.
TCS, Wipro, Cipla,Tata Steel, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, ITC and Sterlite up 1% -3% are the top gainers on the Sensex.
Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Power down 2% each followed by Jindal Steel, HDFC,DLF, Hero Honda shedding 0.6% - 1% are the top losers.
The market breadth is positive. 1443 stocks have advanced while 1115 have declined.
