The co-location facility at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which would facilitate faster trade execution especially for program trading for brokers and their customers, is likely to kick-off in the next 15-20 days, a senior official said today.
Thomson Reuters, in collaboration with IT solutions provider Netmagic Solutions, would be providing a new facility at the BSE to provide co-location hosting facilitating real-time trading.
"Netmagic has tied-up with Reuters to provide the facility which will enable provision of comprehensive real-time market data for all stocks listed on the exchange. The facility is likely to commence in the next 15-20-days. We can expect the service to be started in Diwali," BSE's Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ashishkumar Chauhan told reporters here today.
Reuters has launched Elektron, its next-generation real-time network and environment at the BSE, for the critical hosting service.
Chauhan said that nearly 100 racks would be provided with 40 servers each for the facility.
"We could not set up our data centres in our premise. So we had invited IT solutions providers to provide data center facility in BSE to facilitate real-time trade. This facility set up by the two companies will allow transactions to be transmitted not only on BSE but also on other exchanges," Chauhan said, adding that it (facility) would address the changing needs of online trading community.
