BSE derivatives volume hits Rs 17,000 cr peak

The derivatives trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) continued upward march as the turnover scaled to a new peak of Rs 17,616.20 crore on Thursday.

The volume of derivatives trading touched Rs 17,616.20 crore with 6,75,694 contracts traded on Thursday, the BSE said in a statement here.

In the futures segment, Sensex (future contracts-current month) stood at 1,325.76 crore, and Nifty (future contracts- current month) at Rs 8,702.38 crore, the release said.

The Index futures registered Rs 1,327.94 crore turnover with 50,066 contracts traded on BSE. Among others, Index Option (call) registered a turnover of Rs 7,579.39 crore, Index Option (Put) Rs 8,675.87 crore and equity future Rs 33.01 crore, the release said.
