The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will start its second disaster management centre (DMC) in Andhra Pradesh, according to officials. Companies like Tata Tele, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, L&T, and an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group firm were among the top bidders, sources said.
The data recovery site will be based outside Hyderabad and is likely to be functional by May 2011. The proposed centre will address issues like risk assessment and mitigation. It will also ensure business is not disrupted in the event of a disaster, natural or otherwise. BSE had decided to open two DMCs five years ago, one of which is functioning in Navi Mumbai.
