Bulls in command; Sensex soars 143pts

The Sensex touched a high of 10,723, and is now up 143 points at 10,717.

ACC is up nearly 3% at Rs 771. Gujarat Ambuja has added 2.5% to Rs 100.55, and Grasim has gained 1.3% at Rs 1,911.

HDFC and Larsen & Toubro have rallied 2.7% each to Rs 1,314 and Rs 2,507, respectively.

Tata Motors (Rs 894), Cipla (Rs 587) and Bharti Tele (Rs 391) have zoomed over 2% each.

BHEL, Hindalco, Maruti, Tata Steel, NTPC, SBI, ICICI Bank, ITC, ONGC, Ranbaxy, Tata Power and Satyam are up 1-2% each.

There is still not a single loser among Sensex stocks.

The market breadth is extremely in favour of the bulls. Out of total of 2,341 stocks traded so far, 1,529 have advanced, 729 have declined and 83 are unchanged.

Debutant KEC International leads the value chart with a turnover of Rs 101.96 crore followed by another newcomer Gitanjali Gems (Rs 86.60 crore), Reliance Communication Ventures (RCoVL) (Rs 67.24 crore), Tata Motors (Rs 57.54 crore) and ACC (Rs 41.15 crore).

Reliance Natural Resources tops the volume chart with trades of around 1.16 crore shares followed by Gitanjali Gems (47.46 lakh), Mysore Cement (33 lakh), KEC International (23.25 lakh) and RCoVL (22.51 lakh).
