Buying continues; Sensex gains 70pts

The Sensex touched a high of 10,942, and is now up 70 points at 10,930.

Grasim has surged 2.4% to Rs 1,970. Hindalco and Wipro have gained over 2% each at Rs 163 and 532, respectively.

Infosys (Rs 2,920) and Gujarat Ambuja (Rs 99.25) are up 1.5% each.

Out of 2,305 stocks traded so far, 1,179 have advanced, 1,065 have declined and the rest are unchanged.

Pratibha tops the value chart with a turnover of Rs 93.84 crore followed by Zee (Rs 68.91 crore), BL Kashyap (Rs 54.43 crore), Indotech (Rs 33.98 crore) and Areva (Rs 26.80 crore).

Pratibha also leads the volume chart with trades of around 42.33 lakh shares followed by Reliance Natural Resources (31.44 lakh), Zee (27.90 lakh), Patspi India (22.88 lakh) and GTL (16.26 lakh).
