Cardamom prices declined by Rs 2.70 to Rs 753 per kg in futures trade today on profit-booking by speculators at existing higher levels, driven by a weak trend in the spot market amid sluggish demand.

Increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, November cardamom declined by Rs 2.70, or 0.36%, to Rs 753 per kg, with a business turnover of 28 lots.

The October contract shed Rs 2.30, or 0.33%, to Rs 702.80 per kg in 180 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market also put pressure on cardamom prices in the futures market.
