Cardamom down 1.21% on profit-booking

The December contract declined by Rs 6.10, or 0.70%, to Rs 862.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 220 lots

Cardamom prices fell by Rs 9.80 to Rs 800 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the November contract fell by Rs 9.80, or 1.21%, to Rs 800 per kg, with a business turnover of 505 lots.

The December contract declined by Rs 6.10, or 0.70%, to Rs 862.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 220 lots.

Marketmen said besides profit-booking at existing higher levels, a fall in demand in the spot market put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.
