Cardamom down 2.1% for 3rd straight day on weak demand

Cardamom prices for delivery in August declined by 1.33%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom futures prices today declined by 2.16% to Rs 728.50 per kg extending the losing streak for the third consecutive session, as speculators trimmed positions amid adequate stocks with higher supplies from the producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom prices for delivery in July declined by Rs 16.10, or 2.16%, to Rs 728.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 206 lots.

Likewise, cardamom prices for delivery in August declined by Rs 10.40, or 1.33%, to Rs 771 per kg, with a trading volume of 365 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position also kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
