Cardamom futures prices fell by Rs 3 to Rs 668.70 per kg in futures trade today after speculators offloaded their holdings due to subdued spot demand at prevailing increased levels.
Adequate stocks position in the physical market also weighed down on prices at futures trade here, traders said.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February declined by Rs 3, or 0.44%, to Rs 668.70 per kg in business turnover of 812 lots.
The March contract traded lower by Rs 2.50, or 0.34% to Rs 715 per kg with trading volume of 398 lots, while April delivery eased by Rs 2.50, or 0.33%, to Rs 755 per kg in 23 lots.
Market analysts said off-loading of positions by traders amid a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand mainly led to a fall in cardamom futures prices.
