Cardamom prices increased by Rs 14.90 to Rs 1,274 per kg in futures trade today on strong domestic and export demand.

Tight supplies from growing belts in the spot markets also influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August rose by Rs 14.90, or 1.18%, to Rs 1,274 per kg, with a business turnover of 122 lots.

The July contract added Rs 8.80, or 0.65%, to Rs 1,345.10 per kg, with an open interest of 523 lots.

Traders said apart from restricted supplies from the producing regions, strong domestic and export demand also influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
