Cardamom prices declined by Rs 21.50, falling for the fourth day in a row, to Rs 1,074 per kg in futures trading today as speculators offloaded their positions on the back of sluggish demand against adequate supplies.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September lost Rs 21.50, or 1.96%, to Rs 1,074 per kg, with a business turnover of 24 lots.

The July contract shed Rs 1.10, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 1,228 per kg, with an open interest of 318 lots.

Market analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators due to sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
