Cardamom falls by 0.5% on profit-booking

Speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid subdued demand in the spot market

Cardamom falls by 0.5% on profit-booking

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices fell 0.55% to Rs 813 per kg in futures trade today after speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid subdued demand in the spot market.

Besides, adequate stocks in the physical market following increased arrivals from producing belts weighed on prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November fell Rs 4.50, or 0.55%, to Rs 813 per kg in a business turnover of 263 lots.

Also, the spice for delivery in October traded lower by Rs 2.30, or 0.28%, to Rs 806 per kg in 47 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in cardamom futures to profit-booking by speculators at existing levels amid sluggish demand in the spot market.
