Cardamom fell by Rs 4.50, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 1,263 per kg in futures trade, as traders reduced their positions, driven by weak trend at the physical markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, cardamom for September fell by Rs 4.50, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 1,263 per kg, with an open interest of 2,298 lots.

The spice for delivery in November-month also lost Rs 4, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 1,100.10 per kg, with a turnover of 669 lots.

Marketmen said sluggish demand and increased arrivals in physical markets mainly attributed to the losses in cardamom at futures market here.
