Cardamom prices declined by Rs 7.10 to Rs 1,122 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking amid a weak trend at the spot markets due to subdued demand.

Adequate stocks position in the physical market also put some pressure on the prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April declined by Rs 7.10, or 0.63%, to Rs 1,122 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

May cardamom lost Rs 5.60, or 0.48%, to Rs 1,154, with an open interest of a single lot.

Traders said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market also weighed down cardamom futures prices.
