Cardamom futures prices fell by 15.80, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 1,719 per kg  today, as speculators booked profits after recent gains.

Adequate stocks in the physical markets, driven by increased arrivals from the producing belts also put pressure on the cardamom prices at futures market here.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August contract fell by Rs 15.80, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 1,719 per kg, with an open interest of 1,316 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in July contract lost Rs 8.40, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 1,864.50 per kg, with an open interest of 2,671 lots.

Analysts said profit booking by traders after recent gains, led to a decline in cardamom futures prices here.
