Cardamom prices declined by Rs Rs 6.10 to Rs 1,108 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid a weak trend at the spot market, following sluggish demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April declined by Rs 6.10, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 1,108 per kg, with a business turnover of five lots.

The spice for delivery in May too shed Rs 5, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 1,131 per kg, with an open interest of one lot.

Market analysts said besides profit booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market also put pressure on the cardamom futures prices.
