Cardamom prices moved down by Rs 17.10 to Rs 1,082 per kg in futures trade today owing to sluggish demand at existing higher levels.
Also, fresh arrivals in the spot market from producing belts put pressure on cardamom futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April fell by Rs 17.10, or 1.55%, to Rs 1,082 per kg, with a business turnover of 90 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June eased by Rs 10.10, or 0.88%, at Rs 1,144.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 18 lots.
Cardamom for delivery in May shed Rs 9.90, or 0.87%, to Rs 1,124 per kg, with a business volume of 195 lots.
Analysts said fall in demand at existing higher levels against fresh arrivals in the physical market, mainly led to a fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
