Cardamom prices fell by Rs 8.90 to Rs 976.20 per kg in future trade today owing to slackness in demand at existing higher levels.
Fresh arrivals in the spot market from producing belts also put pressure on cardamom prices at the futures trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for July delivery fell by Rs 8.90, or 0.90% to Rs 976.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 38 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June eased by Rs 8, or 0.82% at Rs 962.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 117 lots.
Cardamom prices for delivery in May moved down by Rs 6.50, or 0.70% to Rs 921.40 per kg, with a business volume of 32 lots.
Analysts said fall in demand at existing higher levels against fresh arrivals in the physical market mainly led to a fall in cardamom prices at future trade.
