Cardamom prices fell by Rs 14.70 to Rs 947.30 per kg in futures trading today due to sluggish demand in the spot market.

Fresh arrivals in the physical market from producing belts also put pressure on cardamom futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for July delivery fell by Rs 14.70, or 1.53% to Rs 947.30 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in June lost Rs 13.60, or 1.44% to Rs 929.70 per kg, with a business volume of a single lot.

Analysts said sluggish demand at existing high levels against fresh arrivals in the physical market mainly led to the fall in cardamom prices at future trade.
